The company created from the merger of Monsanto and Pharmacia & Upjohn is to be known simply as Pharmacia Corp, the two companies announced on January 27. The Searle, Upjohn and Pharmacia names will continue to be used for the company's separate pharmaceutical sales divisions and the Monsanto name will be retained for the agricultural subsidiary.
