The Child-Safe Packaging Group says that it expects a new international standard for child-resistance of flexible packs to be published soon.
This, the group says, will bring the resistance standard for flexible packs, such as blisters and foil strips, in line with the more rigorous requirements for reclosable containers.
Mr Ian Parker (managing director, Dragon Plastics Ltd) told The Journal on January 28: "The UK pharmaceutical industry is crying out for child-resistant packaging and the old nostrum that blister packs can be considered inherently child resistant just will not wash any more."
