SIR,—The Pharmaceutical Journal takes rather longer to reach here than most other addresses on the register, but it is to be hoped that the West Midlands workforce survey report (part 2) (PJ, January 15, p105) is still a topic for discussion.
It was rewarding to see that my letter from the UK signed "Locum" (PJ, December 11, 1999, p948) had pre-empted the report and gratifying to note that my own attitude, formed as a result of personal experience, did not set me apart, but was reinforced by the survey. This goes to show that sometimes the membership can really understand the professional situation on the ground better than some who are administering it.
