SIR,—I was interested to read in the clinical pharmacy section (PJ, January 15, p87) of a new spray product which produces a fine web of biodegradable fibres for use in wound healing.
Such fibres have been produced for many years as Cobweb, manufactured by Spiders Unlimited! My late mother (born 1899) frequently referred to her childhood memories of bleeding cuts commonly being treated by wrapping them with cobwebs.
