PSNC chairman sells to Moss

The chairman of the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (Mr Wally Dove) has sold his pharmacy business at Faringdon, Oxfordshire, to Moss Pharmacy. Mr Dove retains a share in a pharmacy business on the Isle of Wight which gives him membership of the National Pharmaceutical Association. Mr Dove is an NPA appointed member of the PSNC.
The pharmacy, owned by Chemimed Ltd, was one of six separate independent community pharmacies acquired by Moss at the beginning of February.
Mr Dove told The Journal on February 8: "I have bought and sold pharmacies before. I am not getting out of pharmacy. As well as the business on the Isle of Wight, I also own six properties which house pharmacies and I have a substantial shareholding in Unichem."
The other pharmacies acquired by Moss were in Liverpool, Powys and Hampshire. Moss paid a total of £4.4m for the six businesses in a mixture of cash and shares. All are to be rebranded with the Moss Pharmacy corporate identity. Moss now has 650 pharmacies in the United Kingdom and eight in Italy.
