From Mr M L. Orchel, MRPharmS
SIR,—It is heartening to see matters debated by the Council in print. These reports allow us regular, paid-up members to gain a useful insight into what motivates members of the Council. Is the debate about "meals allowance" to be taken seriously (PJ, February 12, p251)?
Some Council members appear to be more concerned with the timing of their supper than the real business of the Council. What is the remedy? Learning to sing more sweetly? Or preparing some nourishment for the journey home? Perhaps some of the membership would be kind enough to send food parcels to those "in need", negating the necessity for an appearance in the first place. Surely the Council has better things to be getting on with.
