LPC shows frustration with PSNC

West Hertfordshire local pharmaceutical committee is to express frustration at the way the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee deals with resolutions from the annual LPC representatives' conference.
At this year's conference on March 20, the LPC is to propose a motion calling on the PSNC to show respect for the conference by pursuing conference resolutions with "vigour and commitment".
The agenda papers for the conference set out the LPC's view that the PSNC takes ineffective action on resolutions, resulting in little progress and indifferent outcomes.
Other motions to be debated at the conference address: revisions to LPC constitutions to take account of National Health Service developments, difficulties in finding enough pharmacists to sit and confidentiality requirements; criticism of the Prescription Pricing Authority; monitored dosage systems; non-co-operation with discount inquiries; prescription charge exemption checking; corporate sponsorship for the PSNC; inadequate reimbursement; contract application appeals procedures; and LPC secretary networking.
