Roche Diagnostics is launching Glucotrend 2 Soft Test System as a direct replacement of its previous blood glucose meter, Glucotrend Soft Test System. The Glucotrend 2 system includes the Glucotrend 2 meter, a Softclix 2 finger pricker and 10 lancets, test strips, low and high quality control solutions, a home monitoring record book and free batteries. Among its new features, Glucotrend 2, has a date and time function and an expanded 125-test memory to help patients maintain an acurate record of their testing time and results, says the company. The company also says that the lancets included in Glucotrend 2 are thinner than the previous ones, which minimises tissue damage and the pain of taking a blood sample (retail price, £20 until April 30, £29 therafter).
