The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is to hold three "Over to you" roadshows in March, all in the north of England.
The roadshows - part of the Society's Pharmacy in a New Age initiative - will take place on consecutive evenings. The first, at the Stadium of Light football ground in Sunderland on March 27, is for members living in the Society's Border region. On March 28, pharmacists in the Yorkshire region will have their roadshow at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. And on March 29, a roadshow for those in the Mersey region will take place at the Oulton Park motor racing circuit, near Tarporley, Cheshire.
Pharmacists with registered addresses in the Border, Yorkshire and Mersey regions are to be sent more detailed information about the venues and times in the next two weeks.
As at previous roadshows, the multimedia presentation will include short talks by pharmacists who have been involved in local projects inspired by the PIANA initiative. The Society says: "With local pioneering pharmacists on board, the roadshows aim to help pharmacists explore the art of the possible and meet the new challenges and demands in the fast moving world of pharmacy. Reflecting those challenges and demands, a leading expert in stress management will also be on board to apply his knowledge to pharmacy."
Roadshows took place during 1999 in Scotland and Wales and in three regions in England (Sherwood, North Western, and Bath and West of England). Roadshows for the four remaining regions (Chiltern, South East England, Wessex and West Midlands) are being planned for dates in May.
