Gehe AG, the parent company of AAH Pharmaceuticals and Lloyds Pharmacy, reported on February 10 that its pre-tax profits for 1999 increased by almost 15 per cent compared to the previous year.
Provisional figures for the year to December 31, 1999, showed profits of E260m (£160m) on a group turnover of E13.8bn (£8.5bn). Gehe said that these results were achieved despite a background of challenging health policies and continuing strong competition, especially in Germany and the United Kingdom.
No breakdown of the results by country or business area was given.
