Because of shortages of generic medicines, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and the Scottish Pharmaceutical General Council are releasing lists of medicines for which contractors' endorsements of manufacturer and pack size will be accepted by the Prescription Pricing Authority and the Prescription Pricing Division.
The lists for prescriptions dispensed during January are given below. Additions to the list are shown in bold type.
England and Wales Chlorpromazine 50mg tablets (pack of 500); dothiepin 25mg capsules (28, 100); ibuprofen 600mg tablets (100); indapamide 2.5mg tablets (28, 56); metoprolol 50mg tablets (28, 56, 100); oxazepam 15mg tablets (100); potassium effervescent tablets BPC 1968 (100); prazosin 500mg tablets (56), 1mg tablets (56); and quinine sulphate 300mg tablets (500).
