An exhibition at the Design Museum, London, on No-Smoking Day, showed pictures taken by photography students who had been asked to challenge images, often portrayed to young people, of smoking as cool and sophisticated. The winning photograph (shown), by Alex Handley, shows his daughter mimicking her mother by "smoking" a pencil. "Seeing the picture . . . prompted me to think hard about giving up.
