Warner-Lambert Consumer Healthcare has added Tartar Control Listerine to its existing range of Listerine mouthwashes. The new product is blue and has a "cleanmint" flavour. It contains zinc ions which the company says displace tartar-forming ions, thus preventing plaque from crystallising into tartar and controlling tartar build-up (retail price, 250ml £2.39, 500ml £3.99). The mouthwash should be used twice daily for 30 seconds and as an adjunct to brushing, says the company.
