Twenty-one pharmaceutical scientists, including two British pharmacists, are to be named as "millennial pharmaceutical scientists" at the International Pharmacy Federation's millennial world congress of pharmaceutical sciences next month.
The two British pharmacists are Professor Arnold Beckett, FRPharmS, who was nominated by the board of pharmaceutical sciences of the FIP, and Professor Malcolm Rowland, FRPharmS, who was nominated by the congress's awards committee.
The other recipients are: Professor Stig Agurell (Sweden), Professor Ronald Borchardt (United States), Professor Douwe Breimer (Netherlands), Professor Dominique Duchêne (France), Professor Ruth Duncan (United Kingdom), Professor Hideomi Fukuda (Japan), Professor Milo Gibaldi (US), Professor William Higuchi (US), Professor Yuichi Kanaoka (Japan), Professor Jindrich Kopecek (US), Professor Robert Langer (US), Professor Gerhard Levy (US), Professor Tsuneji Nagai (Japan), Professor Hitoshi Sezaki (Japan), Professor Shoji Shibata (Japan), Professor Michio Ui (Japan), Dr Michel Veillard (France), Dr Alejandro Zaffaroni (US), Professor Li-He Zhang (China).
