A new shortage has been reported for the Scottish Drug Tariff's March edition - the Tariff itself. According to the National Health Service in Scotland's information and statistics division, late orders for the Tariff for use in nurse prescriber training meant that insufficient copies were available.
Priority has been given to supplies for prescribers and contractors supplied through health boards and primary care trusts. The remaining copies are to be sent to pharmacies which have a preregistration trainee in training since the March edition is to be used for the registration examination.
Update sheets listing changes made since the last edition are available to those who have not received a copy of the March edition. They are available from Don Page at the information and statistics division (fax 0131 551 1392, e-mail don.page@isd.csa.scot.nhs.uk). The division is also interested to know if current recipients of the Tariff would want to be able to access it over the internet.
