Aventis Pharma has launched a range of human insulins. Products in the range are: Insuman Basal 100u/ml suspension for injection, an intermediate-acting, isophane insulin suspension; Insuman Rapid 100u/ml solution for injection, a fast acting, neutral insulin solution; Insuman Comb 25 100u/ml suspension for injection which provides a combination of both intermediate and fast-acting insulins (net price, 1 x 5ml vial £5.31, 5 x 3ml cartridge £21.30). Optipen Pro 1, an insulin delivery pen with a digital dose display counter, has also been introduced for use with Insuman cartridges.
