Numark Ltd promoted its "Your health, your choice" complementary medicines initative with a media briefing for the consumer press held at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's headquarters in London on March 15.
The briefing was supported by some of Numark's suppliers, including herbalists Lanes and Potters, homoeopathic manufacturer Nelsons and aromatherapy producer Tisserand. As well as journalists from consumer and women's magazines and national newspapers, the briefing was attended by Members of Parliament Sir Norman Fowler (chairman, Numark) and Dr Howard Stoate (chairman, All-Party Pharmacy Group).
"Your health, your choice" is designed to bring together different complementary medicine ranges, including herbal medicines, aromatherapy and homoeopathy products, into a single area in Numark pharmacies. Point of sale material is used to highlight 14 common complaints for which such products could be chosen. Conventional over-the-counter medicines are listed as alternatives for customers to choose from. Pharmacists joining the programme have to undertake a day's training on complementary products.
