PJ Online update

New advertising opportunity on PJ website

The Pharmaceutical Journal is now offering advertisers the opportunity to promote their services through banner advertisements on its PJ Online website.

PMI advert
The PMI banner: the word on the yellow circle cycles between "motor", "home" and "shop"

The first company to take advantage of the offer is the Pharmacy Mutual Insurance Co Ltd. Its advertisement appears on one of the site's most frequently visited pages - the search screen that allows users to trace items from the PJ Online archive.
Like the display advertisements that appear regularly in the printed Journal, the PMI banner advertisement reminds readers that the company offers insurance for pharmacists' homes, vehicles and businesses. An additional features of the online advertisement is that clicking on the banner will lead the user direct to PMI's own website. The full-colour banner also makes use of animation to attract the eye.
In addition to the new banner advertising facility, PJ Online also offers a database of all the classified and recruitment advertisements from the two most recent issues of The Journal. This feature has recently been modified to make searching easier for visitors to the site (PJ, March 11, p400).
At present, the basic classified entry online is included in the price of an advertisement in the printed Journal. However, the website gives advertisers the opportunity to enhance the online text with logos or graphics. They can also use the power of the web to link from the PJ text through to more detailed information or to their own websites.
Further information about opportunities for advertising on PJ Online can be obtained from Mr Jack Richmond, Advertisement Manager, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN (tel 020 7735 9141 ext 250; fax 020 7793 9486; e-mail jrichmond@rpsgb.org.uk) or through the PJ Online website at www.pharmj.com.

An occasional feature to bring readers up to date with developments in PJ Online, the website version of The Pharmaceutical Journal, and to answer common questions about the service. PJ Online is available on the internet at www.pharmj.com
