The licensed indication for Eprex (epoetin alfa) injection has been extended. Eprex is additionally licensed for treatment of anaemia and reduction of transfusion requirements in adult patients receiving chemotherapy for solid tumours, malignant lymphoma or multiple myeloma, and at risk of transfusion as assessed by the patient's general status (eg, cardiovascular status, pre-existing anaemia at the start of chemotherapy). The statement referring to use in adult cancer patients receiving platinum-containing chemotherapy has been removed.
