Prescribing

Recollections

From Mr A. G. M. Madge, FRPharmS

SIR,-Your comprehensive editorial "Pharmacist prescribing - one step closer" (PJ, March 11, p437) recalls to mind in the days of "rivalry" between the doctor and the chemist of the saying: "The doctor charges for his advice and gives the bottle free [it had to be in a bottle in those days] whereas the chemist gives the advice free but charges for the bottle."
