Official opening of the Franklin-Wilkins building

The department of pharmacy itself has also been recently formally opened and a plaque was unveiled in the department by Miss Anne Lewis (secretary and registrar of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society).
The Franklin-Wilkins building is named after Maurice Wilkins and the late Rosalind Franklin, who worked together at King's on the discovery of the structure of DNA, and provides teaching and research facilities for 4,500 students (PJ, February 26, p338-339).

The Franklin-Wilkins building, home of the department of pharmacy King's College London, has been officially opened by the Princess Royal (chancellor of the University of London). The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Maurice Wilkins and Professor James Watson, researchers involved in the development of DNA, and a plaque was unveiled by the Princess Royal.
