PATA election Mr Trevor Green (Roche Consumer Health) has been re-elected as president of the Proprietary Articles Trade Association. Mr Graham Delves has been elected vice-president of the retail section, replacing Mr Gordon Bullous, who has retired. Mr Graham Ford (Pfizer Consumer Healthcare) has been re-elected as vice-president of the manufacturers' section. Mr Eddie Brown, FRPharmS, has been re-elected as treasurer. In the election of two council members to represent the retail section, Mr David Thomas, MRPharmS, has been re-elected and Mr Hemant Patel, FRPharmS, has been elected to succeed Mr Bullous. In the election of two council members representing the manufacturers' section, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare and Whitehall Laboratories Ltd have been re-elected unopposed.

EAHP election The European Association of Hospital Pharmacists has elected the following officers and board members: president, Professor Patrick Rambourg (France); vice-presidents, Mr Stan Smets (Belgium) and Mr Bror-Lennart Mentzoni (Norway); secretary, Mrs Jacqueline Surugue (France) [succeeding Mr Ron Pate (UK), who was not eligible for re-election]; treasurer, Dr Johannes Harting (Netherlands); board members, Mrs Tajda Miharja-Gala (Slovenia) and Ms Maria José Tamés (Spain). Dr Ged Lee (UK) was appointed congress executive vice-chairman. Dr Jochen Kotwas (Germany) was reappointed chairman of the congress scientific committee. Mr V'Iain Fenton-May (UK) continues as chief editor. Mr Ian Simpson (UK) was reappointed professional secretary for a further two-year period.
