Boots Mr Ken Piggott, who became managing director of Boots the Chemists on April 1, has been appointed to the board of the Boots Co Plc as from the same date. Mr Piggott joined Boots as a trainee graduate in 1970 and, after various appointments within Boots the Chemists, has been managing director of Children's World (1991-95), Do It All (1995-97) and Halfords (since 1997).
Innovex Mr Hywel Evans has ben appointed managing director of Innovex (UK) Ltd, a division of Quintiles Transnational Corp. He succeeds Mr Keith Bushnell, who has taken up a new Innovex position as president of investment and development of new businesses. Mr Evans was formerly managing director of Takeda UK Ltd. He has worked in the pharmaceutical industry since joining Schering as a medical representative in 1970.
Phoenix Mr David Cole has been appointed to the board of Phoenix Medical Supplies Ltd as commercial director. Mr Cole has been involved in pharmaceutical wholesaling with L. Rowland & Co Ltd for almost 20 years and was appointed group managing director last year.
