Barnett In a tribute to the late Michael Isaac Barnett (PJ, March 18, p435), Mrs LINDA STONE writes: I first met Mike at the very start of my pharmaceutical career when I was fortunate enough to become one of his tutees. From the outset, his enthusiasm and vitality were enormous and permeated everything with which he became involved, from lecturing in his specialist area to racing his small son down the steps of the school of pharmacy building. For me, like thousands of other students, Mike made pharmaceutics come to life.
The Welsh school of pharmacy gained credit from Mike's involvement in the university and the wider world of pharmacy, and pharmacy in Wales benefited from his commitment to the Welsh Executive, which he chaired with distinction.
Mike was larger than life, and I find it very hard to accept that he is no longer here. The profession is poorer for his untimely death while still at the height of his powers.
Mike was immensely proud of his family. Rachel was always supportive, and to her, their children and grandchildren we send our deepest condolences.
