A correction notice has been issued for the British National Formulary. It says that p7 of the 39th edition of the BNF shows a sample Controlled Drug prescription with a machine-printed date. "The date should, of course, appear in the prescriber's handwriting," the correction says. "A computer-generated date need not be deleted, but the prescriber must add the date. The September, 2000, edition of the BNF will show a handwritten date on the illustrative prescriptions for a CD."
