Mrs Helen Remington has succeeded Mr Peter Cooke as president of the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists. She is the first woman president since Miss Evelyn Button became president in 1956 and is only the third woman president ever. The new guild council composition was announced at the national week-end school in Brighton on April 8.
The new vice-president is Mr Bob McArtney, who takes over from Mrs Remington. The chairman of practice is Mr Tony West and the education and science chairwoman is Miss Ann Slee. Mr Anthony Oxley continues as the organisation, terms and conditions committee chairman and organisation secretary, while Mr Ron Pate is chairman of the Pharmaceutical Whitley Council staff side.
