Nurofen Meltlets (ibuprofen 200mg) have been launched by Crookes Healthcare (retail price, 12 £2.49). The company says that the general sales list medicine contains microspheres of ibuprofen encased in a sugar matrix, which dissolves on the tongue without the need for water. The lemon-flavoured tablets have no unpleasant after-taste and provide an ideal alternative for anyone who finds it difficult to swallow traditional tablets or capsules, says the company.
