The internet website of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's publications division, the Pharmaceutical Press (www.pharmpress.com), was this week listed as "business-to-business electronic commerce site of the week" by E-Commerce Focus (www.eComFocus.com).
The eComFocus web editor told the Society that the Pharmaceutical Press website was chosen because it is a good example of business-to-business electronic trading and because of the way it uses the internet to reach out to a particular industry sector.
E-Commerce Focus says that fundamental criteria for its site of the week are a business-to-business focus (as opposed to being aimed at consumers) and either an e-commerce focus or an e-commerce component such that the site can electronically accept orders, accept payments or agree payment details.
Other factors looked for include ease of navigation, clear use of graphics, a clear statement of what the site or company does, good contact information and well-defined processes.
E-Commerce Focus describes itself as an "internet one-stop information shop", offering a comprehensive guide to web-based resources that can help businesses in the United Kingdom to implement and efficiently run on-line e-commerce services.
