From Mr J. Sharp, HonMRPharmS
SIR,—"The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Maurice Wilkins and Professor James Watson, researchers involved in the development of DNA . . . " (PJ, April 8, p529). Strange. I have long believed that DNA was "developed" some three or four thousand million years ago, give or take a year or two. Furthermore, I would be prepared to hazard a substantial bet that Watson, Wilkins et al were themselves born with a ready-made liberal supply of DNA. Have I got it all wrong?
