An education and training consortium has created two jobs to ease the introduction of new preregistration training requirements (see classifieds). The South East (South Coast) pharmacy education and training consortium, which covers Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, has used money saved from having no preregistration trainees during the fallow year to create a full-time 14 month post and a part-time (eight hours a week) 12 month post for pharmacists at grade E.
The full-time postholder will be expected to begin by supporting CPD facilitators in the area and developing the CPD strategy and then move on to helping trusts and hospitals prepare to meet the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's new preregistration requirements. The part-time post entails helping trusts provide training and study days for pharmacy undergraduates.
