Pharmacist prescribing

Contradictory and retrograde proposals

From Mr M. Waldman, MRPharmS

SIR,-I know that Mr Shooter is an enthusiastic tutor and educator of pharmacists. Therefore I find his bitter objection to Hemant Patel's proposals on prescribing to be contradictory and retrograde. After all, if by education we are able to countenance primary care, then our achievements should be capital and our status really professional.
I am not inclined to be a caretaker. My memory of caretakers is of retired men who were on hand with sand and sawdust to clear up an unfortunate's mess. That is not good enough. We need to be active and passionate over our arsenal and, hopefully, prevent a mess.
