Aventis Pasteur MSD has recalled the following batches of HB-Vax II recombinant hepatitis B vaccine, 10 µg/ml vials for adults and adolescents: HH66680, HH66690, HH66700, HH36570, HH66710, HJ39450 and HK09680. This is because of a misprint in the posology section of the user leaflet. It states the following vaccination schedule for 3 doses: "1st injection: at elected date, 2nd injection: 31 month after the first immunisation, 3rd injection: 31 month after the second immunisation." It should read: "1st injection: at elected date, 2nd injection: Ž1 month after the first immunisation, 3rd injection: Ž1 month after the second immunisation." Recipients are requested to quarantine stock of these batches and await instructions from the company.
