The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has appointed a new editor for Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference. He is Mr Sean Sweetman, MRPharmS, who has been acting as editor since the retirement of Mrs Kathleen Parfitt, FRPharmS, at the end of June last year (PJ, July 3, 1999, p13).
Mr Sweetman is a graduate of the School of Pharmacy, University of London, where he studied from 1971 to 1974. After registering as a pharmacist in 1975, he spent the next two years in community pharmacy.
Mr Sweetman joined Martindale in 1977 at the beginning of work on the 28th edition. He was appointed senior assistant editor in 1996.
