Numark's fifth year of growth

Numark Ltd's results for 1999 revealed a fifth successive year of growth for the company with operating profits increasing by more than half.
Sales for the year rose by 21 per cent to £15.9m and operating profits increased by 51 per cent to £4.9m. Consequently, rebates paid to shareholders totalled £4.7m, an average of £3,498 for each of the 1,340 pharmacies in membership. The rebate is now worth over six times the annual management fee paid by shareholders.
Mr Terry Norris (managing director, Numark) said that shareholders were showing increasing support for the company's marketing programmes. This had resulted in a rebate of over £1m being paid in the fourth quarter of 1999 because of one programme alone.
