Sensible motion

From Mr D. N. John, MRPharmS

SIR,-Once again the British Pharmaceutical Students' Association has put forward a most sensible motion for discussion at this year's branch representatives' meeting (PJ, April 15, p586). It is: "That the names of successful candidates from the Society's registration examination should be published in at least one national broadsheet newspaper."
This subject has been discussed on previous occasions and I am in favour of such a proposal. Indeed, following preliminary inquiries, it is my understanding that a letter from the Society to the managing editor of the Times, as an example of such a paper, giving an indication of the number of individuals concerned and frequency of publication required, may result in a favourable outcome and at no cost to the Society, so long as the results were of "sufficient public interest".
I look forward to the outcome of this motion at the meeting and Council's decision as to its policy regarding this matter.
