Welcoming the election of Sandra Gidley, MRPharmS, to Parliament, Mrs Christine Glover (President, Royal Pharmaceutical Society said on May 10: "I am delighted that a pharmacist has been elected to serve as an MP. It will be helpful for Parliamentarians to have among their number someone who understands at first hand the issues that affect our profession and the services that pharmacists provide to the public."
It was always gratifying to see pharmacists taking part in public life, she added. Pharmacists had much to contribute to the public interest at both national and local level.
