The General Dental Council has launched a lifelong learning scheme for dentists.
From October, all dentists are to be encouraged to record any continuing professional development they undertake, in a similar way to that already carried out by pharmacists using booklets provided each year by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
The GDC announced last month that a statutory recertification scheme would be introduced as soon as the necessary legislation could be put in place.
