Faulding Pharmaceuticals has recalled all batches of aciclovir for intravenous infusion, 250mg/10ml, 500mg/20ml and 1g/40ml, manufactured prior to and including November, 1999, and labelled with a 24 month shelf life. The company says that this is due to the appearance of small amounts of particulate matter in some vials following storage for more than 18 months at 25C.
