From Mr B. W. Knox, MRPharmS
SIR,-I refer to Mr Hughes's reply to the letter of Ralph Steinberg (PJ, April 29, p658). I consider the action of Stiefel Laboratories to be highly insensitive and would have thought that one of the major rules of marketing was not to offend the majority of one's customers. The majority of Stiefel's customers are non-Boots pharmacists.
What is the reaction of the community pharmacist when a member of the public requests this product? Well my suggestion is to offer another product secure in the knowledge that Mr Hughes's reply does not wash.
