Postgraduate education goes online

The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE), based at Manchester university, has launched itself on the internet with a new web site.
In a statement on May 9, the CPPE said that the website was intended to promote its image and activities to England's 30,000 pharmacists.
The site currently provides: information about the CPPE and its staff; the CPPE workshop brochure 51, with links to venues and supporting maps, and the CPPE distance learning catalogue, with online booking for workshops and distance learning material; geographical details of the 57 CPPE tutors; details of the Continued Professional Development Award; and a structure to help pharmacists assess their learning needs. Also available on the website are the CPPE and Steering Committee on Pharmacy Postgraduate Education annual reports, links to pharmacy websites around the world and a bulletin board.
The CPPE said that the website would be continually developed. In the near future it would include personalised entries for all pharmacists to provide them with details of their CPPE activity and personalised booking forms. There would also be areas providing online interactive learning material and administrative support for tutors.
The new website can be found at www.cppe.man.ac.uk.
