Staff of the Yorkshire-based Weldricks pharmacy group recently celebrated the achievement of 131 certificated qualifications. Certificates were presented to staff at the company's fifth annual presentation evening by the Labour member of Parliament for Don Valley (Ms Caroline Flint). The qualifications celebrated ranged from first aid certificates to national vocational qualifications, clinical diplomas and an MSc.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Ms Flint said: "Community pharmacies plays a key role in the health care sector. They offer easy access within local neighbourhoods to professional health care advice. It is imperative that all health professionals, including general medical practitioners and nurses, are aware of the important role that the local pharmacist plays."
