I HAVE received the following report from Electoral Reform Ballot Services of votes cast in the recent election of Council members:
Number of ballot papers distributed 43,205
Number of envelopes returned 8,480
Number of envelopes not signed 68
Number of envelopes opened 8,412
Number of ballot papers found to be invalid (blank/spoilt) 25
Thus, number of valid ballot papers to be considered 8,387
The election was conducted by the single transferable vote, with 1,048.38 being the original quota for election. At the 11th and final stage of the count, the following seven candidates were deemed to have been elected (in order of election):

THE annual general meeting of members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society resident in Scotland will be held at the Society's house, 36 York Place, Edinburgh, on Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at 2.30pm.
Representatives from each of the Scottish branches have been invited to take part in the proceedings but all members will be cordially welcomed.
