Certificates of fellowship of the Society were presented during the annual general meeting to 18 of the 20 members who were designated as fellows by the panel of fellows during 1999 (PJ, June 5, 1999, p800, August 7, 1999, p196, December 4, 1999, p894, December 11, 1999, p942). The certificates were presented by the President (Mrs Christine Glover).

Missing from the photograph is Mr Charles Michie. Professor Iwegbunam Akubue and Dr Gillian Eccleston were unable to attend the AGM. Professor Akubue was to receive his certificate at the Society on May 17. Also absent was Professor George Bailie, who has been a designated a fellow of the Society by the Council for distinction in nephrology pharmacy (PJ, August 7, 1999, p196).
