Wrafton aims to double Braunton plant

Wrafton Laboratories Ltd has been given outline planning permission by North Devon district council which would allow the company to double the size of its pharmaceutical manufacturing plant at Braunton. The company makes branded medicines for pharmaceutical companies and own-label products for retail multiples.
Mr Brian Sherwin (managing director, Wrafton) said: "The long-term plan is to develop the plant's capacity, which will involve additional buildings. Over the next 10 years, we aim to grow physically and double the workforce. Since Wrafton was established eight years ago, we have gone from 330 employees to 500."
Mr Sherwin added that the workforce would be increased gradually over the medium term.
