From Mrs P. A. Hughes, MRPharmS
SIR,-Could you clarify the Society's policy on part-time employment. In a recent feature on "Careers in pharmacy" (PJ, January 22, p145), the author claims that "the Society considers fewer than 35 hours per week to be part-time working". However, when paying retention fees, the Society considers less than 10 hours per week to be part-time working (which is approximately what 13 weeks per year equates to). Obviously this discrepancy needs to be clarified.
