Two men have been released on police bail following what police described as a "brutal, vicious, racial attack" on a pharmacist in the centre of Leicester on a Saturday afternoon while the pavements were crowded with shoppers.
Mr Moinuddin Kolia was manning a religious stall with his pregnant wife, his brother and a young Asian man when the attack happened. His two-year-old son was also there. The young man and Mr Kolia were beaten by a group of white men in an unprovoked attack. The youth needed hospital treatment, but Mr Kolia was pulled to safety by his brother while blows rained down on him.
The police have appealed for help tracing a further three men who were seen on security cameras.
