Four pharmacies have been awarded Pharmacy Healthcare Scheme/No-Smoking Day prizes for their efforts to help people stop smoking this year (PJ, January 22, p121).
The winners announced by the No-Smoking Day campaign office were: John Bell & Croyden, London; Tesco, Walsall; Grays Chemist, Carmarthenshire; and S. Mawhinney Ltd, County Antrim. A campaign spokeswoman said that four winners had been selected, rather than the intended one, because of the quality of this year's entries. Each of them will receive £150 and a certificate. Six runners-up each receive a certificate. A total of 100 pharmacies entered the competition.
Details of the winners' schemes are expected to be published in a good practice booklet in the summer.
