SIR,-One has read with wry amusement the seemingly acrimonious debate regarding the Society's decision to purchase an apartment.
I have just returned from Oslo, where I attended a European meeting concerned with Healthcare Informatics. The meeting was held in the Soria Moria hotel about 10km from the centre of Oslo. The views over the city and sea were stunning. The hotel was modern with 156 rooms. The food was excellent. The cost of the meeting was half the normal tariff, with no additional charge for the use of the conference facilities including audio visual aids, and technical equipment. The owners of the hotel? The Norwegian Medical Association.
