Roche Mr John Melville has been appointed managing director of Roche in the United Kingdom. Mr Melville was formerly general manager of Roche Canada. He succeeds Mr Vic Ackermann who has retired.
IFPMA Professor Rolf Krebs has been appointed president of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Associ- ations. Professor Krebs was formerly vice-president of IFPMA. He has taken on the presidency on an interim basis until November. Upon approval by the IFPMA's assembly he will continue as president for a two-year term until 2002. Professor Krebs is vice-chairman of Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH.
