In the first issue of each month The Pharmaceutical Journal updates the guidance on the legal status of medicines published in the 23rd edition of ‘Medicines, ethics and practice: A guide for pharmacists', which was published in January. The amendments are given in bold type on the first occasion they are printed in the list; thereafter they are repeated each month in light type. The legal status of a product can be obtained by consulting first the latest list of amendments and then the guide.
The abbreviations used in the list are those used in the guide and explained in the key to annotations in the body of the guide (pp21 and 61).
